TREATMENT PROTOCAL IN HYPERBARIC MEDICINE

Treatment Protocol in Hyperbaric Medicine:  

Appointment : 

1.Referral via other clinics by a GP or a Specialist
2.Via Business Agreements with Other Hospitals.

Protocol of Treatment : 

1. Initial Consultation by Hyperbaric Consultant to determine Fitness of Patient to undergo HBO Treatment, via Medical Check up ,medical Investigations and opinions of other Specialists related to Diseases is sought via Referrals, may take a few days .

2.Number of Sessions and Dosage of HBOT of 60 to 90 Minutes Daily x 1-2 month Long Depending on Disease nature to be Determined by Hyperbaric Consultant.

3.Patient Schedule is Made in Computerized Calendar Software for 1-2 months, the Nurses and Receptionists coordinate with the Patients.

4. Hyperbaric Consultant Can Write a Prescription and Make a Case History File with all the Instructions to Under go Hyperbaric Treatment in Detail and also Safety Precautions and methods 

Costs of Hyperbaric Medicine: 

Hyperbaric Charges is Per Hour Basis from Each Session & on number of Session's 

How Much a single Session of Hyperbaric Medicine Costs in Pakistan , which is About 2500 PKR , It is Calculated as Follows for Different Diseases

One Session of 60 Minutes Cost  X   Number of Session Required for Each Disease which can Vary. 

Total Treatment Cost  =  Cost Per Hour ( 2500 PKR in Pakistan ) x Number of Sessions. 

For Example for 30 Sessions =  30 x 2500 =  75,000 PKR

The Cost of Hyperbaric when owning a Home use Chambers is Calculated by Dividing the Cost of Home Use Chamber by 36 Months.  

Medical insurance : 

1.  Approved List of HBOT Treatments covered by medical Insurance , A UCAF form raised by hyperbaric Consultant via Business Center after initial Consultation is done, when Approved Medical  Insurance Company Pay for all Treatment .
2.  Cash Paying Patients Pay from their own pocket and also those rejected by Med Insurance companies.
3.  In Jurisdictions of USA only , the FDA Food and Drug Administration Approves the Lists Provided by UHMS to Enable Payment by Medical Insurance companies of USA of FDA Approved Disease Lists entitled for medical Insurance money.
4. In Pakistan Medical Insurance does not Cover Hyperbaric Treatment and also in Many other Countries as well.
