History of Hyperbaric Medicine in Saudia Arabia :

Saudia Arabia has been using Doctors from Pakistan Navy for Hyperbaric Medicine Needs of Navy and the Coast Guard.

The Saudi Air force and Army has also been Using the Hyperbaric and Aviation Medical Specialists from Pakistan for the Defense Needs of Saudia Arabia and Also the Special Services Group of Saudi Navy , also Known as Navy Commando,s also use the Pakistani Doctors .

Saudia Arabia has also recently sent its own Doctors to USA and has trained some of them and they work in Coast Guard Hospital and also in  Riyadh and  Jeddeh Tabuk Area of Saudia Arabia .

Hyperbaric Medicine in Saudia Progressed in late 1990,s when Saudia Spent a lot of money and made Jubail Naval Base and its Hospital has a Hyperbaric unit that is center of Hyperbaric Operations of Saudi Navy and Defense fores and there is a Hyperbaric Unit like the Haux Quadro and also a Second Circular Chamber as well is Situated in Jubail Naval base . about 4 Pakistan Military Doctor's as well as one Saudi Doctors Serves in the Hyperbaric Unit of Jubail Naval base Hyperbaric Unit .

The Saudi Defense Forces Doctors of Saudia : 

USA and Pakistan helped the Hyperbaric Medicine in Saudia Arabia and they were able to get some Doctors to be Hyperbaric medicine Qualified like Saudia Dr Yousaf al Oufi who is Director of Hyperbaric Operations in Saudia Arabia Jubail Naval base and he is In charge and has Degree in Hyperbaric Medicine from USA .

Saudi  Navy to do the Submarine and Naval SSG Special Services also Known as Naval Seals Operations take place from Jubail Naval Base , and  also the Submarine Warfare and X -Craft Spy and Tactical Under water Submarine Crafts that Operated under the Water, also Take place from Jubail . 

There is one or two more Doctors also in Saudi Defense Forces in Riyadh and Jeddeh of Saudi Nationality who are Trained from USA in Hyperbaric Medicine . 

The Pakistan Army Medical Corps Hyperbaric Specialist Doctors:  

Pakistan Navy Sent in the Doctors who were from Army Medical corps and they Trained them in Naval Seals / Navy SSG Operations in Karachi at Pakistan Navy Facilities and when they Got Trained they were Taught Hyperbaric Medicine in Institutes of USA in Co-operations with Bethesda Washington DC , and its Associated Hyperbaric Training Institutes along Side with USA Doctors of its Navy and Army . Some of them also did Navy Seals courses trained from NUMI , or Naval medical Institute Currently Serve in Jubail Naval base.

Many Doctors serve in the Jubail Naval Bases who are on Deputation from Pakistan Army and they Serve in Jubail Naval base and also in Jeddeh and Tabuk Army units of Saudi Navy and Air force where ever the chamber are Situated .

QUADRO MULTI PLACE CHAMBER 

Multi Place HBOT Chamber 

Multi place chambers are used by People in Hospital  , or Research Centers like Medical Universities or in Stand alone Emergency centers that are associated with a lot of Satellite Specialized Medical  clinics or Hospitals .

Hyperbaric Chamber are also being used in Plastic Surgery and Hair transplant , as well other Surgeries that required healing like Cardiac and Surgical orthopedic ones

Further more as Multi Place Diving Chamber are found near the Seas , where there is a  lot of Diving Activities are occurring like in the Navy and Special Forces units of Navy or the Army.

The Stand Alone Emergency Dealing Centers like the Coast Guard and the Navy also have their Own Multi place Hyperbaric Chambers .

The Oil and gas Drilling Industry also Deal in Hyperbaric Chambers and they are used in Deep Sea Diving and off Shore Drilling Operations

The Multi place Chambers are also found in Aviation and Space Technologies like in NASA and European Space Program's and in Future Pakistan can also use this for its Astronauts and Pilots .

The Chambers are Classified in North America by FDA and NFPA, that is Food and Drug Authority and National Fire Protection Agency

FDA USA Classification : Class 2 Chamber

NFPA USA : Class A

Hence it is Class 2 A Product

Both The FDA and EC in USA and Europe does Recommend the Hard Multi Place Chambers as worthy of Use for Regular Treatment of Hyperbaric Therapy,

Multi place Chamber Types : 

According to External Shape it has following types  

A. Cylindrical Multi-Place Spherical ( Cylindrical with a Bases ) 

CYLINDRICAL MULTI CHAMBER 

there is no Base at the bottom and a Special base has to be made at the bottom so that Chamber can be housed there either as trench or as a Plat Form so that Chamber is Securely Placed there .

B. Omega Multi-Place ( Does not Require a Base to Support Itself ) 

OMEGA MULTI PLACE HYPERBARIC CHAMBER 

Has a Flat Base at the Bottom which supports the Chamber and does not Require the Making of base for its installation and is very Easy to Install and Supports itself on a Flat ground and is very Good as Manufactured by Hipertech in Turkey who has the Patent for the Chamber .

C. Quadro Multi-Place (Rectangular)

QUADRO CHAMBER 

Rectangular Better system for lying down , Non Ambulatory Patients to go in via a hospital Trolley and Easy for Disabled Patients with sliding Doors or Hinge Doors.

Quadro has option for treating Lying Patients better than sitting Patients and it helps in healing them with help of qualified Nurse inside of the Chamber . 

Gas used to Pressurize Mono Chamber :

Multi Place Hyperbaric chambers are Classified according to Gas used for Pressurization : 

1. AIR Pressurization compression system 
2. OXYGEN Pressurization compression system 

Air Pressurization System : 

Just like the Multi place chamber has a AIR pressure and compression system , as AIR has 21 % oxygen only and rest is Nitrogen 78% an inert gas That does not take part in combustion or explosion , and hence safer then Oxygen which is highly combustible .

However the Oxygen Compression Multi place Chambers are also manufactured by Different Companies The Air Compression Multi place chamber is more expensive than the Oxygen compression system in price .

In the Air compression oxygen mask or oxygen helmet is used to deliver the oxygen to the patient under taking the treatment .

Oxygen Pressurization System :

In the other pressure compressor system where the oxygen is used for treatment although cheaper change in price and no oxygen mask is used for the patient and he / she lies just like that in the chamber.

But there are drawbacks to This.chamber as it can cause an explosion as pure oxygen is being used for treatment of the patient . Pure oxygen is 100% saturation . This chamber is relatively more dangerous than the Air compression system in mono chamber and most of Mono chambers have this system all around the world and Air compression in Mono place HBot chamber is in un common .

Control System to Run the Chamber : 

There are two Types of Control Systems : 

1. Fully Computerized Control System 
2. Manual Control System 

Computerized Control System : 

In Fully Automatic HBOT Chambers Software's Control the Multi Place Chamber and its Prevents the  Barotrauma by Controlled Pressure Increase and Depth Control , and hence is more Beneficial for the Patients and it is more conformable to run and it corrects the Mistakes of Operator who can Injure the Ears and Sinuses of Patients by controlling the Depth and Pressure Control . 

Manual Control System : 

In Manual Controlled HBOT Chambers Operator Control the Multi Place Chamber via a Handle like Throttle shaped like Airplane Jet Control , hence it is more Direct Control and Mistakes are not Corrected by the HBOT Chamber. A well trained Operator is Required for Operation and running of this Chamber with Sufficient Experience .

Hyperbaric Medical Associations and Operating Pressures : 

UHMS of USA ,European EUBS , AHDMA , Asian Hyperbaric Medical Association and Oceania South Pacific Region , SPUMS South Pacific undersea and Medical Society also Agrees with USA and EC standards and it considered as safe and reliable Medical Equipment and Included as part of HBO Treatment Options that are recommended by Doctors and the hyperbaric Associations as Multiplace Hyperbaric Medical and Diving Chambers :

Operating Pressures to treat up to 4 Bars Pressure for Medical Multi place Chamber and up to  10 Bars for Diving Multi Place Chamber and more than that for Saturation Multi Place Diving Chamber used in Oil and Gas exploration.

OXYGEN HELMETS

Advantages of Multi place HBOT chambers :

A:  Safety Features: The Multi place HBOT chambers have the following:

1. Fire Suppression system FSS , for  Fire and explosion there is safety system that can Extinguish the fire and save the life of patient like Sprinkler system. 
2. Escape features , the chamber has the Escape Mechanism in case of Emergency and Features exist that can open the chamber from inside in case of Emergency. 
3. Highly Safe as compared to all the Chambers  

B: Oxygen Via Mask and Helmets for Consumption Directly.

1. 100% Oxygen is used via the BIBS System  as Pure Oxygen System for Breathing via Mult Place Chambers attached to the Oxygen Cylinder  or Liquid oxygen System enables Safety of patient , and also that can lead to Fire Hazard as Oxygen is Inflammable gas . 
2. Because of Safety of Breathing Non Pressurized Oxygen it is Best and Safest system 

C: Air Compression System.

1. In Quality Multi Place HBOT Chambers using Air Compression System it is a lot Safer that has only 21% Oxygen in the Compression System as Air that has 72 % Inert Nitrogen Gas in it that has less Chance of Combustion and Catching Fire.  
2.  In Oxygen Compression System Oxygen can escape from from the Defective Seals who are not Maintained and Replaced every Year at least as it is prone to Wear and Tears , Leading to accidents and therefore the Multi place Hyperbaric System is best as it used Air for compression . 

D: Patient Comfort in Multi-Place HBOT Chambers.

1. Air- conditioning is very big Factor and as Gas is Compressed and Molecules come together of Gas inside of chamber it cause Heating up of Inside of Chamber and in Summers and Hot Weather it is like sitting in a Oven . Hot Environment inside of Session leading to Excessive sweating and Dehydration of patients as Patient has to be for one hour to 2 Hours at Least inside of HBOT chambers . in Multi Place Chambers there is in Built Air Conditioning system for temperature and Humidity.  
2. Multi- Media is Provided for the Patients so that , the Long Session is not boring with Multi media System that is Specially Sealed Electromagnetically and does not cause Accident as Normal LED and Multimedia would not function inside of the Chamber . 

E: Attendant and Medical Nurse requirement Issues  :

1. Medical Nurse can be inside of Chamber and one has to be outside on Controls and the one inside can intervene in case of Emergencies inside of Multi Place Chamber . 
2. The Patients who Need constant care and are Aggressive and Children are easily handled inside of Multi Place HBOT Chamber. Attendant cannot go Inside of Mono Place for the Children as they cant be Alone inside of Chamber as they feel Suffocated and Terrified and Claustrophobia can be an issue with Children as well as Adults especially with Hyper Active children and requiring Special Care .are handled well in Multi Place Hyperbaric Chamber.
